This building was JO Jeong Geomgan’s 연거소 and it took YANG O-jin’s will, respecting the order of the party. This building uses a slightly sloping landform. The front side has 9 rooms and it is very similar with Uran, the housing in the direction of south with high humidity. Originally, it was口 - shaped but it is left in the ㄷ shape with the right and left sides slightly different. The left side was made into storage, while the right side was made into rooms. Three rooms on the left side of the front are also bedrooms, with a floor on the right side. Its roof is

Hyanggyo is the field of education and virtue. As Godoyo Woongju, Sangju probably had hanggyo (county school) from the earliest days, but it is difficult to know the period of establishment. According to the history of Hyanggyo, In 1426 (the 8th year of Sejong), JO Chi (曺致) Panmok built Namru; and in 1485 (the 15th year of Seongjong), Mayor KANG Gu-son (姜龜孫) expanded the shrine for Confucius. It was completely destroyed during Imjin War (1592) but later restored and preserved until todays.

This is also called gaekgwan (객관, 客館) and installed in every town during Joseon Dynasty. Jeonpae (an wooden tablet that symbolized the King was saluted and worshipped by government officials) was safely placed in here, and when a new mayor comes, people prayed that he could safely stay in this town for a long time; on the first and fifteenth days, people wished for the long life for the King and bowed to perform Hwanggwolmangbae ritual. Whenever there are happy or sad occasions in the country, all government officials gather together here to pay reverence. Meanwhile, it was also used as the foreign envoy’s lodging.
