Mt. Songnisan, located on the border between Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chungcheongbuk-do, has the main peak, namely Cheonhwangbong Peak, which is located in Sangju-si, Hwabuk-myeon of Sango-ri. Munjangdae Peak with the magnificent view is located in Hwabuk-myeon of Jangam-ri. Mt. Songnisan is also a home to animals and plants, with 580 animals inhabited and 672 plants growing. For the animals, there are 160 kinds of birds, 240 kinds of water-living organisms, 180 kinds of insects, and especially there are Keungatsae Bird, Bulkeungaseumgatsae Bird, Sahyangnoru, Naldaramgee. Also among the natural monument, the alpine plant Deungdaemiho, rate plant white azaleas, yew-trees and dicentras.


Munjangdae Peak, at a first glance, it gives a feeling of one spirit being clustered in the heart of our country of towering Songnisan. Steep and graceful, leading and clearness symbolize them all. Stacked strange rocks and bizarre stones are high above the clouds, some stretch down long to form a valley, aspects of mountains and ranges of small and big peaks are surrounding one another like a folding screen, which is merely magnificent. Each peak has its own characteristics and feelings, and so does each valley. The higher you actually climb, the higher you will wish to climb. Mt. Songnisan is the last place to leave once you pause walking. The view is intoxicated, causing the spirit of the vast boy to soar. Mt. Songnisan is the place that leads to the ground of the selflessness by being buried in the warm heart of nature.


Mt. Songnisan is a watershed of the next trine - Nakdonggang River, Hangang River and Mt. Geumgang. The mountain is a stony mountain, and the fall is a rocky stream, where its water is as clear as mirror and sounds as beautiful as the golden melody. The origin of Cheonhwangbong Peak firstly forms Janggak Falls then joins with the flowing water at Galryeong and Pihwatjae, surrounding the back of Ongnyeobong Peak, and the origin of Munjangdae Peak, while boasting a spectacular view of Osong Falls, flows from the West to East and reaches at the foot of Seungmusan Mountain where it partners with Neultimul. At Gangseondae, it joins with the water of Cheonhwangbong Peak, flows in between Dojangsan Mountain and Cheonghwasan Mountain while creating a magnificent view at Yongyu and Byeongcheon, pass by the curves of Ssangnyong 30-ri and finally into the Nakdonggang River.


enerally speaking, Songnisan's face area, Sangju has the spectacular view where the nature itself achieved. Cheonhwangbong Peak Ipseokdae Rock, Sinseondae Cliff, Munjangdae Peak, Gwaneumbong Peak, Hyeongjebong Peak, Dojangsan Mountain, Cheonghwasan Mountain, Gangseondae, Samobong Peak, there are Osong, Janggak, Boko, Ongnyang, Ssangnyong and other waterfalls that boast of amazing views. In Chungbuk area on the behind, including Beopjusa Temple, there are national Treasures and Treasures are preserved in temples, including Bokcheonam, Jungsajaam, Sanghwanam, Sanggoam, etc. The harmony of nature and artificial achieves the extreme of art. Songnisan is an exquisite and mysterious mountain that can not be expressed in words, texts or pictures.


When you enter this mountain, everyone is far from greed or worldly desires, no willingness to pick a tree or, a flower or take a beast, but become solemn at the grandeur and mystery of Mother Nature. This mountain is spiritual, magnificent, and has vital forces, and cannot be expressed or followed in human world, which named the mountain Songnisan that is said to have left the world from ancient times.
