As part of the four-river revitalization project that began in 2009, Nakdan-bo Beam was invested with a total of 13.9 trillion won of project cost. 8 number of beams [one of the repair facilities that blocks the stream flowing through the dam and keeps the water in it] construction work started on 23 November, 2009 according to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs’ notification No. 2009-1117. It is located in the upper second and looks like an old-fashioned landscape that reflects the traditional image of nature, history, and culture in three areas of Sangju, Uesung, and Gumi-si. The concept is Yirakjicheon to ‘make a beneficial ecological environment and pleasant lives of people.’

It is a friendly multi-functional beam that has a total length of 286m [fixed beam 144.4m, movable beam 141.6m], elevation 11.5m, and reservoir capacity of 34.3 million tons. Two hydroelectric plants of 1,500 kW are installed, which produces 14.22 million kWh of electricity annually. In addition, 141.6m Gongdo-gyo Bridge, natural type waterways and an island of a complex concrete block assembly type Ice Harbor [Fishway].
