'50 .6.25 day illegal surprise After the attack, the North Korean army forced the 15th division into Daegu to destroy the army's defense line. It was the first time that a major division of North Korea had been deployed under the judgment that it could advance to Daegu ⇒ Busan and occupy South Korea early.

Recognizing North Korea 's intentions, our ROK military deployed the 17th regiment north to Sangju to block the 15th division of the North Korean army.

The 1st battalion of the 17th Regiment who arrived at Hwasyeongjeong received a report of the residents and during the reconnaissance, captured the North Korean military commander and obtained intelligence about the enemy movement of the 15th division and the 48th regiment, and prepared for ambush surprise operation.

When the enemy who arrived in the present Songgye branch of the 48th regiment did not take a nap or take a bath, the battalion leader confirmed that the battalion was disorganized. The battalion leader attacked the 48th regiment of the North Korean army gathered for a meal without any bounds,

The next day, when the 2nd Battalion scouted, they captured the North Korean army commander and obtained intelligence that they were following the 45th Regiment of the 15th Division. As a result, the 2nd Battalion ambushed in the valley of the Dong, and continued to complete the ambush operation while keeping enemy guns thoroughly until the enemy came in front of the enemy.
