Gyeongcheondae

Tour of Gyeongcheondae Terrace

Gyeongcheonmun

The gate is made of tempered glass and steel structures. The five glass structures represent the fingers of the hand holding the sky, and the transparent glass means pureness resembling the clear water of the Nakdonggang River. ?It also means that the leaning direction is a longing toward the apex, which seems to desire harmony. It was designed by architect Kim Dong-joo in 2004.

Artificial Falls and Yongma

It is a waterfall built of natural stone with a height of 8.5m and width of 22m. Fountains and water flow down to add to its grandeur. In front of the waterfall, there is also a statue of General Jeong Ki-ryong running on horseback. You can enjoy playing in the water in front of the waterfall

Drama Shooting Site

The celebrating 50th anniversary dram in 2001 by MBC, “Sangdo”'s shooting site was both funded by Sangju-si and MBC.

Rabbit Observational Field

The rabbit observation field is where ups cam see and feed rabbits and turkeys, etc., located behind Gyeongcheondae Terrace management office.

Yuraebi / Small Stone Pagoda Street / Loess (Hwangto) Roads and Stone Pagoda Roads

After passing through the waterfall, there is the small stone pagoda street. There are dozens of small pagodas lined up between the trees and on the streets. Loess (Hwangto) Road is 70m and Stone Pagoda Road is 300m, and at the end of these roads you will see the observation deck. There is a space to drink tap water at the entrance, so it would be nice to have some before going up. The Loess (Hwangto) Road is composed of 70m and you can feel more refreshed when you walk barefoot under the warm sunlight. The stairway to the top of the stairs is 300m long, consists of 333 stairs and each staircase is numbered. When you get tired of climbing up, take a look at the stair number you’re walking on.

The Nakdonggang River seen from the Observatory Deck

The observatory is located at the summit of Moojisan (159m), the highest peak of Gyeongcheondae Terrace tourist spot.

If you go up to the observation deck on the 3rd floor, you can see the most beautiful scenery among 1,300-ri of Nakdonggang River. It is the first observatory deck to see Juholsan Mountain, Sobaek Mountain and Cheonghwasan Mountain, and there is a place where you can drink tap water in observatory deck.

MTB Course

The MTB course naturally runs through each course of the park, so it is not so steep, so even beginners can easily enjoy mountain biking and look at the river.

Inside of Gyeongcheondae (2.5km) : Walk trail - Gyeongcheondae - Shop - Gwangsanchon - Parking lot

Outside of Gyeongcheondae (1.5km) : Parking lot - Mookhajae - Ogjubong - Nakdonggang River - Jebang - Maehyupnongro

Gyeongcheondae Terrace

Gyeongcheondae Terrace is a scenic view of the Nakdonggang River with its mysterious beauty.

It was originally called the "Jacheondae" because it was made by the heavens. However, It is now called "Gyeongcheondae Terrace" as the meaning to hold up the sky after Udam Chae Deuk-ki started to live at Injo 15th (1637).

Malguyu

When the General Jeong Ki-ryong of the Imjin Invasion era is young and builds up a water lily with Yongma, it is said to be a horse feeder made from rocks

Gyeongcheondaebi

Barefoot Experience Site

Mokgyo Bridge

There is a wooden bridge that is a small wooden bridge on the road from Gyeongcheondae Terrace to the filming place.

When you cross this bridge, you can see the filming place on the lower left side, where I shot MBC drama 'Sangdo'.

In this place, you can observe more closely the 'Yongso', which is the word of General Jeong Ki-ryong.

Gyeongcheondae Land

Gyeongcheon Land in Gyeongcheondae is an amusement park run by a private business operator. There are facilities such as viking, carousel and ghost house. There are also swimming pools and snow sleds, which are used by more people in summer and winter.

Overview

Gyeongcheon Island is an area of 200,000 square meters in which the Nakdonggang River is a sediment formed by natural water flow.

It is the site where the residents of Jung-dong and Donam-dong cultivated crops such as radish and potatoes.

It is connected to the bridge between Donam-dong and Gyeongcheon-do. It is a shelter for citizens and has a unique butterfly shape.

Hyunsoogyo Bridge connecting Gyeongcheon Island to Sangdo drama set field is scheduled to be built, and it is expected to attract a lot of tourists visiting the area as a stopover place connecting the with the Shinnaru Cultural Belt site in Donam-dong.
